Postnatal Support Doula
I am here to make sure that while you look after your baby, YOU are also looked after
Giving birth is the beginning of the incredible transition into parenthood. While it is extraordinarily exciting, it can also prove to be exhausting and overwhelming for many parents. Not only is the birthing mother recovering from pregnancy and birth, she and the family is also taking on the huge task of learning how to care for the needs of a new baby. This is where a Postnatal Doula can help make this journey a little easier on the family.
I am here to offer emotional and physical support, as well as knowledge during the hazy newborn period. I am here to make sure that while you are looking after your baby, YOU are also looked after. I can hold your baby while you shower, fold your laundry, make you a cup of tea, usher away visitors overstaying their welcome, or even just sit and listen if you need me to. The benefits of Postnatal Support reach well beyond the health and wellbeing of the mother and baby, extending to the entire family.
The type and length of postnatal support I am able to offer is completely up to you. It can be as simple as one hour a week to a few hours a day, and even overnight support for parents in need of some extra rest. I also offer an option for pre-prepared nutritious home cooked meals to take some of the load of daily tasks off of the family. The options are limitless and are even a good gift idea for parents to be!
